Program Overview

FOODSAFE Level 1 is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course, which covers important food safety and worker safety information including food-borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing. Health care workers, who may prepare, serve meals or assist with feeding clients would benefit from this course. FoodSafe certificate is a mandatory requirement before practicum participation or employment in a health care setting.

Important Information

  • This program does not require approval by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training. As such, the registrar did not review these programs.

*The BC Health Act: Food Premises Regulation states that every operator of a food service establishment, and at least one employee on every shift, must hold a FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate, or certificate from a course recognized as equivalent to FOODSAFE.

Tuition: $100 (Domestic)/ $120 (International)

Credentials

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a FoodSafe Certificate issued by BC FOODSAFE

If the program is full at the time you wish to register, please register for the next available start date. In the event of cancellations or transfers, we will move students ahead accordingly. This is done on a first come first serve basis and we cannot hold a seat without a deposit.
