Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR

Program Overview

The Canadian Red Cross recommends retraining every three years.

  • Participate in a fun, interactive learning environment

  • Learn simple techniques for First Aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)

  • Learn safety and healthy lifestyle choices which are key to illness and injury prevention

  • Red Cross Instructors individualize the training and provide continuous feedback which increases skill retention so that participants are more likely to feel prepared to apply skills in an emergency situation

 

* This program does not require approval by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training. As such, the registrar did not review this program.

  • The Emergency Medical Services System

  • Emergency Action Principles

  • Airway and Breathing Emergencies

  • Cardiovascular Emergencies/Strokes

  • CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillation)

  • Bleeding Management and Shock

  • Secondary Survey

  • Preventing of Disease Transmission

  • The Red Cross

 

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to obtain:

 

  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C Certitificate issued by Red Cross
