What are Admission Requirements?

What are Students Responsibilities?

It is your responsibility to acquaint yourself with course outlines, content, evaluations and methodology. You are also responsible for conducting yourself in a reasonable manner and in accordance with College policies.

What is Program Duration?

Healthcare Program Duration
Emergency First Aid (full-time) 8 hours
Long-Term Care Aide (part-time) 26 weeks
LPN Access (full-time) 43 weeks
Nursing Assistant and English (full-time) 2 years
Residential Care Attendant (full-time) 20 weeks

Do you have Qualified Instructors?

Yes, all our instructors are nurses registered with CRNBC, CLPNBC with many years of teaching experience as well as industry experience. Once you start your training, you'll get ample support from your instructors and one-on-one help whenever you need it. All our classes are taught by certified industry professionals who teach for the very best reason: they love teaching.

How many Students per Class?

Maximum 20 to 24 students per class (depends on the classroom size)

Is Gateway Accredited?

Yes, Gateway College is accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia.

Where does training take place?

Classroom instruction is at 395 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C., followed by a practicum in intermediate / extended care facilities.

Are Student Loans available?

Yes. Canada and British Columbia Student loans are available for the full-time program and Canada Student loan is available for the part-time program, to those who qualify. Students may apply through the registrar or online at StudentAidBC .

Are there transferable credits?

Yes. Health Care program students may apply to take the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Access Program.
